SUSTEC CITY is a project where we connect disruptive technologies from different areas like housing, water, health, electricity, transportation, recycling, finance, education, construction, agriculture, and many more to create a smart city that is smart for the people and smart for the planet.

On more than 1000 hectares, less than an hour drive from Zambia’s capital Lusaka, SUSTEC CITY shall become a role model for sustainable cities not only in Africa. We are creating a place where people don’t have to worry about water, food, health, and education. At the same time, we are creating a place where local traditions merge with modern technologies.

Water is life, and there is no life without water. Unfortunately, in many areas there is a lack of clean water. Even in Zambia with a 4-month rain season per year and direct access to the world’s second largest freshwater lake, water is a rare commodity.

In SUSTEC CITY we will combine smart solutions of water collection, water purification, water distribution, and water consumption, including collecting water from air and storing rainwater in a system of connected cisterns.

As a result, all citizens will have 24/7 access to healthy clean water.

Thanks to the sun, there is enough energy around us. Photovoltaic systems like we know them today have been developed since the 1950s, thus, it is time for something new.

A team of scientists and engineers developed a totally new approach how to collect solar energy by using nano technology. As a result, every roof, façade, window, or any other flat surface can be turned into a solar collector simply by applying a thin nano coating.

SUSTEC CITY is the first city where literally all buildings will be their own power plants.
